It’s funny how you can learn something multiple times and not think much of it, and then later it can blow your mind. Today it was fully processing that Linus Torvalds who created Linux also created Git.
My biggest exceptional quality was that I would not let go.
This TED video has a lot of gems in it, including:
- Working with other people
- Working with people who you may not like or agree with, but it can work if you have a common goal
- Edison vs Tesla
- Open source works in code because code is somewhat black and white. It either works or it doesn’t
I am not a visionary. I do not have a five year plan. I’m an engineer. I’m perfectly happy with all the people walking around and just staring at the clouds and looking at the stars and saying “I want to go there”. But I’m looking at the ground and I want to fix the pothole that’s right in front of me before I fall in. This is the kind of person I am.
